Description:   This position is for an Operator Technician in the Fermentation Department at our Winchester Kentucky facility.  

Fundamental Components: 
Follow the direction of the team leader and overall direction of management.

Operations of process equipment, open/closure of valves, sterilization of piping/tanks, monitoring process conditions and adjusting as needed.

Ensures work performed is accurate, timely, efficient and compliant with company policies, plant SOP’s, cGMP regulations and FDA regulations.

Report quality deviations or non-conformances observed, monitor batch production records throughout the fermentation process.

Able to troubleshoot issues with process or equipment independently and initiate appropriate action when deviations occur.

Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, safety and/or cycle time.

Perform on the job training for new and developing operators.

Ensure cleanliness of process areas.

 Collaborates effectively with other departments.

Background Experience:
Required: High school diploma or GED, 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred: 4-8 years of experience in manufacturing and/or fermentation environment

Expected Hours of Work:  Full-time position. Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift, must be willing to work day shift or night shift including weekends and holidays. Overtime is required. (2-2-3 schedule: 2 days/nights on 2 days/nights off 3 days/nights on 2 days/nights off 2 days/night on 3 days/nights off and repeat)

Percent of Travel Required:  0-10%
